The town of Dilar has been an untiring fighter so that this impressive natural environment would be declared National Park. In the year 1986 it had already been declared Reserve of the Biosphere by the UNESCO.

The following step was the declaration like Natural Park and finally, last year was already declared National Park of Sierra Nevada. In it there are the highest peaks on the Iberian Peninsula, el Mulhacen (3.483 mts) and el Veleta (3.398 mts).

The National Park is constituted by extraordinary summits with perpetual snow, dozens of virgin lagoons and extensive forets of conifers and deciduons trees. We will be able to find at each step with a common denominator, the water, present in all their shapes and states: the snow, the ice, the incipient springs, the small creeks, the stormy torrents, the lagoons, the runlets...

It is necessary to add their extraordinary exological value since there are grat number of flora and fauna species unique in the world.

Sierra Nevada's National Park lodges the most southern ski resort of Europe, assuring the skier a percentage of days of sun that doesn't exist in any other ski resort in Europe, with many kilometers of ski slopes.
